Hasanah.id – Mass demonstrations under the banner of “no kings” have once again erupted across the United States, marking the third major wave of protests targeting the administration of Donald Trump. The coordinated rallies drew massive crowds nationwide, reinforcing growing public dissent over key government policies.

Nationwide “No Kings” Movement Gains Momentum

From major metropolitan hubs to smaller towns, the no kings protests unfolded on Saturday across nearly every major U.S. city. Demonstrations were reported in New York City, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Boston, Nashville, and Houston.

Organisers say the movement is fueled by frustration over multiple issues, including the ongoing conflict in Iran, stricter federal immigration enforcement, and the increasing cost of living.

“Trump wants to rule over us as a tyrant. But this is America, and power belongs to the people – not to wannabe kings or their billionaire cronies,” organisers said.

In the nation’s capital, thousands of demonstrators filled the streets throughout the afternoon. Protesters gathered at iconic landmarks such as the Lincoln Memorial and the National Mall, turning the area into a sea of signs, chants, and symbolic displays.

As seen in previous no kings rallies, participants carried effigies of Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and other administration officials, calling for their removal and legal accountability.

One of the central events took place in Minnesota, where public outrage remains high following the deaths of Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti earlier this year. Both individuals were killed by federal immigration agents, sparking nationwide criticism of enforcement tactics.

Thousands gathered outside the State Capitol in St. Paul, joined by prominent Democratic figures. Music also became part of the protest atmosphere, with Bruce Springsteen performing his anti-immigration enforcement song, “Streets of Minneapolis.”

In New York City, crowds flooded Times Square and marched through Midtown Manhattan, forcing authorities to shut down major streets. Previous estimates from the New York Police Department indicated that over 100,000 participants had joined earlier demonstrations across the city’s boroughs.

Internationally, American expatriates also showed solidarity, staging no kings protests in cities like Paris, London, and Lisbon.

While organisers insist the no kings movement remains peaceful, some incidents were reported. In Los Angeles, two individuals were arrested after allegedly assaulting federal officers near the Roybal Federal Building.

The Department of Homeland Security stated that officers were struck with cement blocks and required medical attention after being surrounded by what it described as “1,000 rioters.”

Elsewhere, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed multiple arrests after protesters ignored dispersal orders near a federal prison. Authorities said “non-lethal measures” were used after warnings were issued.

According to Reuters, similar tensions occurred in Dallas, where minor scuffles broke out between protesters and counter-protesters.
