HASANAH.ID – President Prabowo Subianto ensures that the government continues to strengthen the management of forest and land fires (karhutla) in Central Kalimantan. Comprehensive mitigation steps are being implemented intensively to halt the spread of fires while preventing new hotspots from emerging as reported from presidenri.go.id/.
Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya, in a written statement on Saturday, August 22, 2026, stated that President Prabowo received reports regarding the current conditions and operational needs while leading a meeting at the Central Kalimantan Karhutla Command Post in Palangka Raya.
“During the meeting at the Kalteng Karhutla Command Post in Palangka Raya on Saturday, August 22, 2026, the President received reports on field requirements and ensured that government support continues to be reinforced,” Seskab Teddy stated.

Efforts by President Prabowo Control Forest Fires in Central Kalimantan
To reinforce fire suppression operations, the government will deploy four additional water-bombing helicopters on Sunday, August 23, 2026. Furthermore, fire engines and equipment to ensure water availability at fire locations continue to be boosted.
